GOOD GRIEF：IT'S THE PILOT   (Excerpt From NOU)      要命喔 ： 這就是機長 (摘錄自空大）

I was flying from San Francisco to Los Angeles .
By the time we took off, there had been a 45-minute delay                          
and everybody on board was ticked.
我從舊金山飛往洛杉磯
等到我們起飛的時候已延誤了４５分鐘
而飛機上的每個人都在斥責著

Unexpectedly, we stopped in Sacramento on the way.
The flight attendant explained that there would be another 45-minute delay,
and if we wanted to get off the aircraft,
we would re-board in 30 minutes.
沒想到，我們途中停在 Sacramento
空服員解釋說將會再延遲45分鐘
而且如果我們要下飛機的話
我們就要30分鐘之後重新登機

Everybody got off the plane except one gentleman who was blind.
I noticed him as I walked by and could tell that he had flown before
because his Seeing Eye dog lay quietly underneath the seats in front of him
throughout the entire flight.
每個人都離開飛機了，除了一位眼瞎的男士以外
我注意到他，當我經過他時而且可以看得出來，他以前搭過飛機
因整個飛行中，他的導盲犬安靜地躺在他前面的座位下面

 I could also tell he had flown this very flight before
because the pilot approached him and,calling him by name,
said, "Keith, we're in Sacramento for almost an hour.
Would you like to get off and stretch your leg?"
Keith replied, "No thanks, but maybe my dog would like to stretch his legs."
我還看得出來，他以前就是搭這班飛機的
因這位機長接近他時叫著他的名字
說"基斯"，我們在Sacramento差不多要待上一小時
你需要下飛機去動一動你的腿嗎?
基斯答說，不必了謝謝，但我的狗可能想要伸伸它的腿吧
 Picture this:
All the people in the gate area came to a completely quiet standstill
when they looked and saw the pilot walk off the plane with the Seeing Eye dog!
The pilot was even wearing sunglasses.
想像一下這畫面：
當他們抬頭看見這位機長牽著這隻導盲犬離開這飛機時
所有的人在機門的地方 完全啞口無言呆滯住了!
這機長甚至戴著太陽眼鏡 People scattered.
They not only tried to change planes, they also were trying to change airlines!
人們驚慌四散
他們不僅試圖要換飛機，他們甚至也要換航空公
